garbled messages 1

My customer has another problem. VS R5 voicemail. Newly recorded messages are unintelligible. Older messages recorded as late as last week are ok. System is otherwise working correctly. The system prompts from the VS mail are clear, it is only the message left by the caller which are severly distorted. CO Lines are ok from FIOS.
 
have you tried a reboot yet for the mail module?
 
no, i did a #728 2 weeks ago. this is a new problem
 
You can do a soft reset on the PMVS by dialing a code when accessing the admin menu. This usually takes care of the issue at least temporarily. Chances are the PMVS hard drive is starting to go bad though. I've had clients that reset and never have another issue. Others have the issue come back a few months down the road and then more frequently requiring replacement.
