Gaining SYSTEM privileges on XP and 2k

I need to either gain SYSTEM privileges to enumerate hidden registry keys, or figure a better way around this. What I need is to know where 2k and XP have their network bindings. I diffed the registry changes between unchanged and unbinding TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks and turned up nothing. So I'm guessing only SYSTEM has that kind of access. This is for a project I'm working on at work to quarantine a machine that is misbehaving. Yes, I know it is better to do it at the switch level, but it is a long story. So, any ideas on how to get SYSTEM privileges? Or better yet, where what I am looking for is hiding and how to get SYSTEM privileges?
