Hi All,

I am having major problems at a site that has a s8300/G700 configuration. We are experiencing static, echo, dropped calls, etc. on four digit calls (going over our LAN), inbound and outbound calls (going over dedicated PRI). I looked at the G700 with Avaya, no errors/alarms. Could the unit still be sick? Could the G700 be the culprit here. Everything on the network side checks out. We have dedicated switches to all of our G700's bypassing the need for VLANS. Utilization is nowhere near max. Any thoughts??? Please help.

Thanks
TBG

Check to make sure that you have the latest versions of firmware for the G700 (p330 and mgp) and make sure that your S8300 has the latest update installed.

Thanks for the reply. All that is good. Running 10/half for CLAN (hard coded; auto=N). Any other thoughts?

I have no experience with the G700 / S8300 stuff so this is just a guess but is the synch set up correctly? What are you seeing as far as li mea ds1 l XXXXX? Any errors in other li mea reports?

tbg247,

first of all, try to check grounding connection. i've seen telco equipment working miracles with poor grounding. then, to isolate the problem, try calling phone-to-phone on the same board. or, if you're using ip phones, turning on shuffling and again calling phone-to-phone inside the system. anyway, describing your system in more detail would definitely help.
