I'm building an S8300/G700 stand alone switch and have installed CM 4.0.1, configured the server, can access CM from ASA on the services port, and have updated the firmware. Here's the rub, when I plug one end of my crossover cable in to the Ext 1 ethernet port on the G700 and the other end to my laptop, I get no link from the G700. My laptop NIC doesn't see anything from the media gateway.

Am I doing something wrong? Even if my IP's were wrong, I should still see some kind of link on the G700 when I do a "sho port", right?

I'm scratching my head.
Thanks for any help.

hi,

Is your laptop NIC auto-detect? If not use straight cable from G700 ext 1/2 going to your laptop.
