When we busy, test, then release 4 data ports, the alarms go away, but come back after several minutes.( they are Minor Alarms ) This lights the alarm light on the reception phone, but does not seem to affect services. can this be processor related and possibly indications of some serious problems with the hardware. I was hoping to get an idea of what may be causing this and if is indeed an indicator of a more severe issue? A warm reboot also was performed, but did not clear them permanently. Thank you

Kevin, i have the saved the log as bmp but dont know how to convert the log into a url and make it an attachment. I alos have it as a screen shot in my eamil. any help you can goive me would be greatly appreceated. I am willing to go to avaya but wanted to check with you all first

Do 'display communications-interface links' to see if they are assigned (and what they may be used for). Then do 'display communication-interface processor-channels' to see which links are assigned to what specific application; i.e. DCS, mis, etc..

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

The 4 ext that are alarming do not appear to show as being assigned to the proc for these commands that you had me do.

Do 'list data-module'. See what's assigned to these extensions.

Kevin

list data module

these appear to be netcon datamodules but could also be
processor interface datamodules.

1axx01 would have a maintenance data module extension and related port of 1bxx01

list configuration control will show numbers associated with 01 02 03 04 for network control if netcons and if they are processor interface will show ports if they are comm links

The system does not have to be duplicated to show the bxx
ports on list data

PROCESSOR INTERFACE TN765 000016 01 02 03 04
PROCR INTERFACE 1 TN765 000019 02 02 03 04
PROCR INTERFACE 2 TN765 000019 02 02 03 04
NETWORK CONTROL TN777 B 000020 01 02 03 04
NETCON/PKTINT TN2401 000005 01 02 u u u u u u

I have looked at all the ports and none of the alarming ports are associated to anything. These are Netcon ports with no data when you display the data module. I am going to schedule a controlled reboot. The switch lost power unexpectedly sometime last week. Do you think its a good idea to do a controlled reboot? your thoughts are very much appreceated.
