Hey, never saw this. I was doing a MAC and installing a digital set (8410D). After I changed the port, the station won't come up. A status shows disconnected. I tried another digital port and same result. I busied out and released...nothin....test station and on test 16 error 3, test 17 error 5...if that helps...Release 6.

What Gives?

Dan

I would say you have a wiring problem. Jack, cross wire, house cable pair, mounting cord, etc.

Sorry, not a wiring problem or a bad port. I punched down right to the PBX to try and localize the problem (I thought wiring too) It has something to do with this station. I have double-checked all parameters, but I still get a 513 error. I have used different wire, sets and ports....the problem stays with this station ID

I have run into this sort of trouble before on the 8400 series phones. Every once in a while we will move one that was set up on a 4 wire pack or port. (TN 754b)I have my guys rewire everything they can to the newer 2 wire packs 1. to free up cable pairs and 2. To put in the higher port capacity packs.(TN 2181, or TN2224cp) Sometimes they will not hot up on the two wire setup. It almost acts like they get burned in with the 4 wire ports.

I see that "Mikey Tried It", isn't that unbelievable?! I really appreciate that info, however...that kinda sux because I can't get any cards or upgrades....We are switching to Nortel soon (not my choice) and this box has run its course.

Well, my client will be real happy to hear that. I am going to keep trying on other ports but I had to walk away from it. You know how it is when the 5 minute job gets into 6 hours. I keep praying for IP...IP...IP...IP

Thanx Again,
Dan

Since the 8400's are 2 or 4-wire capable they will work on either, but I have seen cases where some num-num, Wanting to do a self-upgrade, plugged the phone into an analog port, called it and fried the 2-wire port, but the phone will still work fine on a 4-wire port.
You said you have tried different wire, sets, and ports and the issue is the same. Have you tried removing the station completely and re-adding it to eliminate a software issue.
