We migrated our VM Pro server to our VMWare structure using their P to V tool. The virtual server is working fine. We didn't have to backup any directories or go through any of the traditional steps for building a VM Pro server. We plan on keeping the physical server on hand for at least a month just in case something unexpected happens.

I tested the VM-Pro in a Microsoft Virtual Machine and it worked fine also. But in full production I opted for a dedicated box for the VM-Pro.

I would prefer a physical server at any given time, just because I am old school and don't like change much (I know wrong business I picked) and I always prefer to be able to call Avaya and tell them something is not working and not just having them reply that "this is not a supported solution get the hell outta here"

I don't suffer from insanity
I enjoy every moment of it :)

We have been moving our 4.2 VM Servers over to Virtual Machines on an ESX host, which is backed up daily, so if we ever have it go down, we can start up the back-up and they can be back up and running within 20 minutes..

So far I haven't had any issues for over 6 months on at least 10 of these.

I have had issues with vmpro on a virtual machine
This is a test/demo system but that does not matter
When i called to the vmpro machine, the announcement was not normal but sometimes very slow and sometimes very quick
But many times it went well
I changed it to another virtual machine and it was gone !
