I have a working VPN between the office FVS318 (fixed IP) and Linksys WAG54G at home with dynamic IP

I set up the VPN temporarily to allow access from a range of remote IP addresses and it worked without too much stress

I have set the Linksys to use and update dyndns.org and I'd like the 318 to only accept remote connections from this FQDN

Changing only the following VPN settings on the 318, the VPN stops working.

- The tunnel can access: from 'a range of remote address' to 'the remote WAN IP or FQDN'
- Remote WAN IP or FQDN: the dyndns.org FQDN of the Linksys

The VPN log on the Netgear shows:
IPsec:NO inbound SA found for ESP

The VPN log on the Linksys suggests:
**Check your Local/Remote Secure Group settings !
00:41:01 IKE[8] Tx >> Notify : INVALID-ID-INFORMATION

Obviously I need to change more than I have done. But anyone with any clues what?

Problem now sorted after a good nights sleep.

For anyone finding themself in the same boat, I changed the remote address range to be the local range at home rather than a range of public IP addresses.

The history to this set up is that I originally had a vpn set up from my win xp PC (via dial up and IPsec) into the netgear. When I got the Linksys router and broadband, I just butchered the original VPN settings.

I think the morale is to start from fresh

If this doesn't help anyone else, then pls accept my apologies for opening the post
