Fuzzy Search - Want To Do

I would like to be able to do a fuzzy search on a value. For example, if I am looking for 123456, 124356 will show.

I want to do this in an SQL database from VB.

Any ideas on how to do this? I'd be open to purchasing third party software if that is the best way to do this.
