Fundemental IB database question

Well, I get the dumb award this week chums.

Q. What are the steps requierd to create an IB database using the IB console route. I want to create a database on a remote server.

I keep getting an error when trying to create one

Any help appreciated

What error?

Make sure you enter a path LOCAL to the server (something like: c:\mydatabases\mydb.ib or so...

Hi Martin

Thanks for the reply mate. I've got the path sorted.

Thing is, I have made an alias but then when I try to connect to the database I get the error:

"I/O error for file "e:\datavol\memo\memo.gdb"
Error while trying to open file
unknown Win32 error 2"

?????
