We are getting an error message stating:
Error 7608: An Unknown Full-Text failure (80004005) occured in function CreateCatalog on Full-text catalog.

This is happening on a fresh install of SQL 7.0 sp2. Full text was enabled and the Microsoft Search Service is running. This is preventing us from creating catalogs on ANY database.

Ideas?? [sig][/sig]

I have received the same problem, I was wondering whether you had found a solution?

Hi Vic,

I know it's been awhile !
This problem seems to follow individual databases. Import/Export, backups, etc. We got around this problem by using bcp to input the tables directly from text files. We did this on a new server (we were replacing the old one). I am not sure if it will work simply by uninstalling/reinstalling SQL Server then using bcp. It is worth a shot though. If you need info on bcp, feel free to message back, I have this post on email notification.

If you found a solution to this, what was your work around?
Maybe it differs... This seems like a popular problem, so the more work-arounds we post will help others when and if they encounter this problem.
