full system volume

Hi,

I'm running a brand new SBS 2003 and after a few days, I get the notification that the system volume of 8GB is almost full, but when I count the capacity of all folders of this drive, I come approx 5.8GB and yes, I can view all folder, including all hidden files, etc...

Drive C:\ Capacity: 8Gb and 7.96 used!!!

on c:\ there is a pagefile.sys which you don't see if you don't remove the checkings show hidden files and hide system files in tools options in an explorer. pagefile.sys is the file that Windows uses for swapping to and from the internal RAM when the RAM is full. It should be as big as the RAM, so if the computer has 2 GB of RAM, it probably has 2 GB pagefile...

I checked this "pagefile.sys", but unfortunatly I can't find it and I checked the box in Tools\folder options\view\show hidden files and folders.
Also I have 1GB of RAM on this server...

every Win2003 server should have a pagefile.sys... It is hidden. Maybe if you start a CMD(DOS Prompt) at c:\(root) and write attrib to see all files and their attributes?

You also need to untick "hide protectected operating files and folders" in tools ->folder options.
