I've set up 2 backup jobs, Daily (Monday - Thursday) Differentials & one FULL on Friday. We have a simple tape rotation system:
Week 1 - Mon 1 - Thurs 1, Week 2 - Mon 2 - Thurs 2 (repeated)then for FULLS we run Friday A - C then "End of Month"
Now the daily jobs run 100% with no issues, apart from the odd dir not backed up. But almost every time a Full "scheduled" backup runs it keeps failing with the error

Now I've done the following:
1) deleted the schedule & recreated it - No joy
2) deleted the job & schedule & recreated it - No joy
3) run the job manually - works 100% fine
4) reboot the server on Friday morning before the scheduled - works every now and then.
I thought it might be something to do with the fact that I change the tapes on Friday (from the tape library HP storageworks MSL5000) taking daily's out and putting Fridays tapes in. However I did a test by taking the dailies out putting an old tape in to do a restore and then putting original tapes back in. This worked fine (no need for a reboot). But as soon as I put Fridays (Full) tapes in the schedule fails... EVERY time I remove or add a tape to the library I run a full inventory, each time veritas comes back with the correct tapes in the coreect place.
Person before me tried to upgrade to 9 but complete disaster so management not too happy with doing this again at the moment.
Any ideas???? i've sort of ran out of them ...
