I just received a new server today to setup as an email/iis server. It seems to be a nice little machine though I haven't hooked it up to the network yet. However, I have one little problem with it. The OS is Win2k Advanced Server and I have never used it before. The mere mention of Active Directory sends cold chills down my spine! I am sure it is simply unfamiliarity the OS.

Nonetheless, I have a nice, STABLE, network running right now. I run NT 4.0, TSE, and a ScoUnix box right now and they never give me any trouble. What will happen once I add this as a BDC to my little domain? Any heads up on what to expect or suggested plans of attack will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Might want to keep it a Stand-alone server attached to your network. You can't make a Win2k server a BDC.

You could put active directory on machine, but it would put overhead on your server.
