Our local ISP uses Windows 2000 server. I build web sites and they host them. I prefer to use Dreamweaver, but I was told that Win 2000 server will not allow individulas to FTP to there respective sites. Is this true? I am limited to Frontpage to upload the sites.

Thank you

That is not true, they (your ISP) can create a virtual directory in their ftp server with the name of your user. When you log into the ftp server, with your username, it will place you directly into that virtual directory (wich can point to your web site's root directory).

As dan is saying , that statement is not true. Just call your ISP, and tell them about your needs of having an FTP capable account (you should probably have one, if you are paying for hosting).Your ISP alo must give you all the information you might need for all your uploads. In Dreamweaver when you configure your site, there is an option where you put that information. Thank you both for the response. It is my ISP provider that told me I can't FTP. I was sure this wasn't true. I was hoping to get enough information to tell him how to do it. I really want to keep working with him, but as I have more and more sites to build, it is a pain to build offline in Dreamweaver and then transfer to Frontpage and then upload from there. I have worked for him in the offoce several times and tried to read the WIN 2000 Server book on doing this, but I just don't know enough about all of it.
Thanks again

Thanks, maybe I could encourage him to come to this site.
Or, maybe the next time I am in town I can make contact, to get more information.
