I'm planning on hosting a number of domains/websites on my Windows 2000 Server, however, I will need to be able to create seperate FTP Accounts for each domain. Please bear in mind that I'm a newbie to Windows 2000 Servers, but I've heard that in IIS you can only have one FTP Account. The current default FTP Account is pointing to c:\Inetpub\ - this is for the default domain on the server. I have now added a second domain, the content of which is located at c:\websites\newdomain. When I tried creating and starting a new FTP Account (Server) in IIS but just got an error message saying there were conflicts, presumably with the default FTP Account.

Since I plan to host a number of domains, am I best to get a 3rd party FTP Server? If so, can anyone recommend an FTP Server product. I will need the FTP Server to run as a service since I only have remote access to my server and don't really want to leave myself logged on permanently.

hey,

you can have more than one FTP account with IIS. make sure you can resolve the new sites (DNS) etc., i don't really have enough information to know what the problem is, but M.S. usually has descent help on that, just have a look in help in IIS.

cheers.
