What could cause an ftp server to be very slow to respond? Everything else on my server seems to be working fine but ftp is taking forever and sometimes just timing out.

And btw, telnet is taking forever to give me a login prompt as well. And one more interesting tidbit...when I go to upload some files to my FTP server, I get a message that the file on the server is newer than the one I'm trying to upload...and that's never happened before, but it may be unrelated.
The first two problems would be a reverse host lookup problem. Add your client's name to the server.
The second one?? Well, check the time on the client is my best suggestion.
