I am trying to transfer some files from an OpenServer 5.0.7 to a 5.0.5 machine. When I try to use mget I am getting an error that shows "Arguments too long, can't find list of remote files." I am doing an ftp -i into the 5.0.7 machine and I am able to login, do an ls on the directory and show all files, but no luck moving the files. Even if I try to do an mget within the directory it still gives the same error. Is there something that I am missing on the 5.0.7 machine? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You may consider create a tarball in the 5.0.7 and then tranfer it with ftp.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Arguements too long --> too many files in the originating directory. Split them up into multiple directories or create multiple tarballs as PHV suggests.

Thanks, PHV and Stan...tarball worked great.

Carl.
