FTP : CONSIDER USING PASV

i have the need for a windows 2003 server to ftp to a remote site and fetch some files.
i can ftp ok. howeve when i issue a command to mget *.* i recieve the message

ftp> mget *.*
200 Switching to ASCII mode.
mget 04082501.TRN? y
200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.

and nothing happens, i have no file. i have tried looking to enable PASV but no luck really.

when i ftp from an XP workstation i get the same message but it retrieves the file ok. please help. :>)
