Thanks a lot mates. The reason why I came all about to getting a Celeron II 800mhz 370/66mhz is because if you go to Evertech.com (Evergreen Technologies), there's a Celeron II 766mhz that upgrades your old 233mhz Pentium II CPU's(slot 1). I am pretty sure they come with new drivers and bios updates for you comp, but I figured that if that concept works, then why not buy a good slotket (with 66mhz,100mhz,133mhz/ and customized voltage settings) and then just buy a Celeron II 800Mhz 66mhz CPU? Wouldn't that work? Mainly the concern would be the BIOS to allow 800mhz right? Can you explain Evergreen's concept compared to my risky one?

Thanks guys

I tried an Evergreen upgrade a few years back and had great success with it. It did indeed come with a flash bios for my Presario. I think it took my 120mhz Pentium to a 180mhz w/mmx. It worked without a hitch.
A good slocket "might" work - but you've got to consider your BIOS. I doubt that it supports an 800mhz cpu. The little I've heard about slockets is that the quality ones work - but the cheap ones don't. I've also heard that sometimes the cpu loses a bit of performance because there are more pins on the PGA chip than there are connectors on the Slot 1 - but the performance hit is very minimal. But then as far as I know that's all just heresay.
Frankly if I were you I'd buy a new ATX case and MB and just move all the innards over. You can get a new mb that will run at FSB's of 66mhz all the way up to 133mhz for future upgrades. I know the Presarios have onboard vid and sound - so you might have to invest a couple dollars for those.
Good luck,
Don

Where did you buy a 800 MHz Celeron with a 66 MHz FSB? All 800 MHz Celerons I've seen have a 100 MHz FSB. I'm just curious.
