FRx and CR

Can anyone tell me how FRx compares to CR? We are looking at an ERP system that ships with FRx instead of CR. I'm concerned that FRx may be very limited as far as formulas and more advanced features.

I know I can still use CR to create reports outside of the software package. I just would like to find out how FRx really compares to Crystal.

FRx is a completely separate and much different package than Crystal Reports.

While Crystal Reports will allow you to write custom reports on nearly ANY data source, FRX is specifically designed, with proprietary data source connections in some cases, to read and report only against General Ledger data. FRx is a finacial reporting package.

I have used FRx for years with Macola and although it is no longer supported, it is a good product. What ERP product are you looking at? I can most likely give you some feedback on it as I am sure it is on of my competitors, and I promise to be honest!

Also, should you go with this package you should consider buying BOTH FRx and Crystal (I have recommended this for a number of Macola users).

They are looking at Khameleon and Solomon.

I've been using CR for about 5 years and we do have v8.5. I had never heard of FRx. I had hoped that they would find a package that allows you to add custom Crystal reports for individual users, like Accpac.

Right now we are using a hidious mix of excel, access and peachtree (via PAWCOM) linked with all sorts of processes and links.
