Hi,
i find that my tapes are constantly being FROZEN by NBU.
could this be that the tapes are faulty?
thanks

Yes it could or the drive, as a default any 3 error in a 12 hour period will down a drive or freeze a tape. You need to look at what errors are being produced. There is no point in unfreezing the tape until you have found the reason for the problem.

how can i see what errors are being produced?

that's what the logs are for. You will need to set up the logging directories and level of verbose. You will also be able to see some information in the reports section of the GUI

logs and reports are your friends.
They will tell you what is going on and what problems are occuring.

I suggest the logfile created in the bptm directory/folder
And the report "Media Logs"
There are many different causes for tapes to become frozen.
