Hello,

I have a Intuity Audix which I can not connect to remotely. When dialing in using Terranova I get a message that a carrier was not available. I've dialed in on a phone and I know the modem is picking up.

Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this? I was able to log in when sitting at the console and the rest of the VM seems to be running ok....

Thanks!

Try to dial into the voicemail manually using terranova's blue screen and the atdt command.(not the phonebook)

Set you speed to 2400 to start and set
at&m0 to turn off error correction
then atdt and the modem number
This should get you started

You may have a bad or noisey line or bad connection to the voice mail

I just finished trying the above, I hear the modem connecting, but as soon as the modem tones end, I see NO CARRIER.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
Steve

Many questions time...

Is the modem line connected to the correct port on the back of the remote maintenance board? (The RJ45 connector at the top or right side of the RMB)
If so unplug the connection and plug the line into an analog phone. See if you can dial out on it to see if there is noise on the line.

Is your modem line connected to your phone or line port on the back of your modem? (check your line for noise. Can you dial into other devices O.K.?) If it is connected into the phone jack on the modem change it to the line port.

If all else fails, bring the voice mail down and back up and see if that cleans up the problem.

Just some ideas....(for free!!!)

I checked...the line is fine....I've got a feeling I'm going to have to bring the VMail down and up.....

Thanks for the help though!
