Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and need to ask a question.
My secretary has her site in FP2000 and she's wanting to change it to DW. She says she can open the pages in FP to DW.
Her question is...can she save those pages in DW and everything will work for her without having to rebuild her site in DW?

Thanks for your help

Yes. There is no special format that Frontpage uses, or DW uses its all just HTML.

So she can save them fine in DW without any problems.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Thanks Vacunita for your fast response. She's saved a few of the pages in DW and when she previews them they look just like they do in FP but she had to downsize some of the font sizes.
This is not a flashy site but a straight forward no frills site with a few small banners made in KoolMoves.
All the images ( headers and buttons were made in Photoshop 5.5) and all the images on the site were optimized in ImageReady. The site is about 42mb in size and loads fast.
She's tired of all the FP quirks and didn't want to buy Expression Web. She already had DW3(old but works for her).
Before she totally changes it over to DW she would like to know if you think it would look the same on the live site?
Thanks again for your help.

There should be no notable differences. As I said both applications create HTML and nothing more. They may add a few commented bits that are particular to the application, like template info and other stuff like that, but they'll be in comments so won't affect the page itself.

Thank you again for your valued info. She made her own template by just making a page black and putting the navbar on the bottom. She would then add each page banner on the top as she built the site.
She's never had any problems with the site, only FP going crazy on her recently when she's tried to publish her edits. It won't publish at all now and no one can find the problem.
My daughter called her tonight and she said she has about 1/3 of it in DW and is doing some cleaning up on it.
My business site was in FP but several years ago we rebuilt it in DW and ended a lot of issues we were having with it.
Once again, I thank you for your valued info and I'll let you know what happens when she sends up to her host.
