Using FP 2000, one page in the web is shown via the scripting tab only, no preview tab, and attempting to switch to normal view produced the following:
This page contains scripting code that could be changed if you switch to Normal view.
All other pages are OK.

Any suggestions please?

Hi ChrisHirst

Thanks for your supportive reply. Sometimes we don't have a choice.

I've recoded the page from scratch which has cleared whatever the problem was - glitch character maybe?

There's always a choice. [lol]

the company I worked for would only have Front Page installed. after about three days of having it rewrite things for me, I used Notepad!

funnily enough my sections of projects were usually completed first.

best of luck.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

one of the companies i worked for previously was a frontpage fanatic if he could install frontpage extentions on his microwave i think he'd do it.

unfortunately frontpage wasn't overly agreeable about files being changed without it's involvement like via the use of notepad. or didn't like multilinear output, like start a form, then have 6 possible closings to the form, and because there was more closes than opens on the form tag, front page would fubar everything up... i'd say for the first 6 months 1/3 of all the time i worked was reparing what FP had mussed with .. and all he had to do was open frontpage on his computer (boss man).

if you're trying to write scripts in frontpage, i would assume you're trying to improve upon yourself and your web site... if that's the case, get some reading material, and step away from the WYSIWYG, first of all you're limited by the bounds of the software, and secondly, if you know how to do something, you have to translate it to something FP happy .. like the code you want to insert, even if it's a simple javascript.

best of luck :)

PS .. i think you can script in FP if you view HTML source and edit in there. but ... that would scare the begees out of me, i dont like applications that change my code on me while i'm trying to type it.
