What are some of you using for deployment of databases? Front end app. or over the web?

When I move an Access dBase to SQL Server 2000, I will probably totally redo the front end anyway. So I wanted some opinion on whether I should look into web deployment.

This will be used almost exclusevily in the office over the LAN, but I wouldn't rule out features for web access. But is it limiting to deploy a local database that is accessed over the web?

Thanks. Sean.

An INTRANET database is very useful and can have many advantages. Obviously ".NET" would lead you to make a web frontend. Web is where everything is heading. However, security over a web, even an intranet, can be difficult to lock down. Also, if later down the line you wanted to provide outside access, you already have the basic structure down, you would just have to make some security changes and you have it.

Hope this helps.
