Front-end in DMZ or not?

Are there any major implications if I keep my OWA on my Exchange server inside verses putting it on a server in the DMZ for the purpose of people being able to access their mail from outside?

Security. It's safer to put it in the DMZ, but will still work internally if you just open the right ports.
