Hi,
Is it possible to take a dump of a database from SQL Server 2000 and have it loaded in MS SQL Server 7.0. If yes, can someone explain the necessary steps to be taken to do that?

Thanks

I now you are not able to restore a SS2K backup on an SS7 installation and I am almost certain that you cannot copy the MDF/LDF files and attach them either.

You may be able to get the basic schema pushed over to the SS7 installation via DTS but in a limited fashion.

You may just have to export the tables/data to a text file and import them that way. I would see what DTS could do first of all.

Thanks
