I need to free up space on my server. While browsing the Winnt directory, I found the (hidden) uninstall folders for all the patches and service packs I've installed, along with another folder called ServicePack, that appears to contain old (or new?) versions of the various files installed for SP4.

Is it ok to move these folders to another partition? I'm running low on free space (<300mb) and I would like to move/delete as much stuff as possible.

So it seems that I should probably keep the SP folder around so I can add/remove windows components, but it is safe to delete the patch uninstalls. I don't plan to ever remove a patch though. Thanks for the KB article!

On several systems I've left the ServicePack folder (in case of adding/removing components as you stated) but deleted the SP uninstall directory (that holds the previous SP files), because the systems haven't had a problem with them and I have no need to uninstall the newest service pack. I haven't removed the patch uninstall folders since they are usually fairly small.
