Freeing space on an boot partition

I have a w2k3 server that after the upgrade from 2000 had 1 gb of free space on the 4gb boot partition. After I ran SP1 I am down to 250mb of free space and I still need about 50 updates. I have already moved the pagefile to another partition and run disk cleanup. I have removed all of the apps from the boot partition as well.

How can I free up some additional space? When I did the SP1 update I told it to save the uninstall to another partition. I assume there is still a copy of the 400mb SP1 download somewhere I could delete?

Thanks,

Jon

When you said you removed the apps, is this through Add/Remove programs since this doesn't necessarily delete the files from disk. I don't how much more you can cut out without compromising the OS. You can either re-build the server with a larger boot partition (pref > 8GB) or use one of the many drive re-partition application to expand the size of your drive using available free space from another disk/partition

I have done this a few times with Ghost. Ghost all partitions on the server to dvd or a seperate hard disk drive then ghost it back to the server and resize the partitions with ghost. works great everytime, just takes a little time depending on how much data is on the server.

Before you do all that:
Do you have another partition available? If so you can move your SWAP file to free up space.

You can also change the settings on the recycle bin to use less space.

Delete unused user profiles.
