FREE alternative to MS Publisher ? 3

Hi,

Having up (or down) graded from XP Pro to Vista Home Premium, I have had to fork out to replace a lot of the software I used which is not Vista compatible.
My MS Publisher 98 program has served me well for the past 10 years, but is not 100% with Vista and I need to replace it. Is there a FREE alternative to publisher available. I am now using Openoffice 3 which does what I need in place of MS Office, but would like to get hold of a freeware desktop publishing program if anyone could recommend ?

I take it you have tried all the available Compatibility Modes in Vista to install and run Publisher 98?

Have you tried a Virtual PC to run either XP or 98 from Vista and work it that way?

Sorry to have omitted this from my original post, but by "upgrade" to Vista, I meant I had got a new PC entirely.
So, would I have activation issues if I tried to use my old XP Pro OS on the new machine alongside Vista ??

If you removed XP from your old machine, and the XP was not an OEM install just for that original machine, then you could use it in the new Virtual Machine which you installed on Vista.
