Hi.

I'm developing this site that use framesets for the menu bar. Anyhow, just today I attempted to preview the site in IE and I got this response, "Framesets cannot be previewed when the application server is remote. Do you want to preview the frameset locally?"

If I say "yes", it opens the HTML for that particular frame set in UD, if I say "No", it previews in IE, but without the frameset.

It worked fine yesterday. Strangely, I uploaded the pages to the server, punched in the URL and everything appeared fine. So it has to be my settings, but I'm at a loss. The settings state:

Local info = (points to my local directory that contains the pages.)

Remote info = none

Application server = none

Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
DanH

This is an annoying one. Go to edit>preferences and look at the "preview in browser" section. There is a tickbox there for "preview using application server", turn this off.

However, if you have any asp pages in your framest then DW will not let you preview the frameset using your application server, and you will get the same message. To get around this just open your frameset file in your browser using the http protocol (localhost etc.) then when you need to preview, save everything in DW and then just refresh your browser. Derren, thanks. It had become very nerving, now I'm relieved.
