I have a legacy FP DOS application when copied onto a workstation running XP I get the following message.
"Cannot locate the desired version of FoxPro"

I run FP 2.6 just fine on XP. I haven't encountered this with any other workstations W2k or prior. We have copies of this working when accessing from a server or other non-XP device, but in this case I need to run it stand alone.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly apprecieated!

Hi

YOu might be having only the FOXDX260.ESL or not having any ESL and ESL files.

SO look into the application directory and copy the following files..
FOXD2600.ESL
FOXD2600.ESO
FOXDX260.ESL

If you are only having FOXDX260.ESL and it is not working, then.. it is likely that you dont have sufficient memory allocated for this application. You have to tweak and do the setup of memory for the application.

Thanks - You were quick and right on the point. Through some additional testing we found that this copy was bad and was actually missing the ESL.

I guess I have to remember that it isn't always the new item - in this case XP - sometimes it is the simple things. Like is it plugged in, are you sure this copy will run on the existing system.

Thanks again
