I'm using exchange 2000. I'm forwarding message sent to a specific address to a public folder. It works fine internally, but when a message is sent from the outside, the sender gets a delivery failure message that say rfcc822; address2@domain.com.

Any help is appreciated. thanks

Well, off the top of my head, have you mail-enabled the public folder?

Also, has it ever worked or is this a new situation?

Hi, it's very easy.

Go into system manager. Goto administrative groups. Go into site name and then open up all the 'folders'.

Right click on the public folder and choose 'all tasks' and then 'mail enable'.

Now it will show up in your address book and you can treat it like any other mail object. If you don't see it right away, run the recipient update service manually or it might take a few hours.

Yes this was changed in Exchange 2000.

Now mail from the internet falls under the "Anonymous" account on the public folder permissions.

The public folder is mail-enabled or else it wouldn't work internally with the forward rule. Dan
