Hello everyone,

Someone here has been annoyed a few too many times from automated sales calls and is looking to find some vengeful satisfaction by sending those calls into a line that simply allows the sales call to continue until the other party disconnects.

So far, I have recommended that the call be put on hold, however because held calls ring back, my user is looking for more of a "set it and forget it" method to this. I haven't found a way so far, and was wondering if anyone else has done something similar with their IP Office.

once you have a means of identifying the call as unwanted (withheled CLI perhaps?) you cna then rout it to a VM action to keep the call open, perhaps playing a looping msg.

You can create a callflow in vm that says please hold the line and just keep playing it.

If you find you get any of these calls from particular cli's you can create incoming call routes for those cli's to route them to the vm and you wont even have to answer it.

You can do what PlatinumGuy mentioned and used VMPro to route by caller ID, and then do a transfer to a rejection hotline #.

This one is actually for telemarketers.

Thanks everyone. I now have some of these unwanted calls being forwarded to an unending recording of choice Simon Cowell criticisms.

My favourite is to keep the caller on hold whilst googling their company name, then transferring the caller straight back to their own switchboard. Most of the time this doesn't cost us, as the caller usually dials our 0870 numbers.

A pity that it can't be automated...
