Forwarding between exchange

Hi guys,
I have a client who owns a couple of compnaies. THey all run an AD environment with Exchange 2000. One guy has left one company and moved to another, and they have requested that his email be forwarded to the new compnay email address. How can I forward exchange mail, to what is an external email address?

and help appreciated.

In the original AD create the user (with his new e-mail address) as a contact. You can then forward the old account onto this contact.
