I use Outlook XP (2002) both at work and at home. At work, Outlook works through an Exchange Server. At home my computer is "stand alone" and I use a dial-up connection through a local ISP. On both machines I use Word as my e-mail editor.
After I insert an appointment into my calendar at home, I can right-click on it and choose Forward. This inserts the appointment icon into the text section of an e-mail. When I send it to work, I can open the e-mail and then drag the icon it to my calendar.
However, when I attempt to forward an appointment from work, the appointment icon appears in the e-mail; but when I open it at home, a "reference" to the original e-mail is listed as an attachment. Unfortunately, the appointment icon is not in either the e-mail nor the attachment.
Any ideas on why forwarding appointments using drag and drop works properly from home to work, but not from work to home?
