Hi, I have a linux ticketing system (RT) running sendmail that i'm trying to forward mail to from my Exchange2000 box. I setup a contact, put in an SMTP address (rt@xxx.com), and put in another primary smtp address (rt@linuxhost.xxx.com). When I send mail from Outlook to rt@xxx.com, I get back a 'bounced between 2 servers' NDR.
I'm able to send out regular internet email fine.
I have an SMTP connector configured with a smart host, but under the exchange server's virtual SMTP server properties, I don't have a smart host configured there. Should both be configured? Why does that field exist anyway? Seems redundant to me...
In any case, this seems so simple. I want exchange to take any mail for rt@xxx.com and forward it to rt@linuxhost.xxx.com. Also, my recipient policy is named just xxx.com, not server.xxx.com.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
