hi

if anybody knows where to get a fortran compiler please tell me

What operating system are you using (Unix, Linux, Windows, VMS)and which version of Fortran (IV, 77, 90, 95) do you need the compiler for?

i have windows 98

i just want to learn fortran

It does depend on which version of Fortran you wish to learn. F77 and F90 are very different. F95 is F90 with Pascal/C like features. Most of the 'free' ones are F77. The F90 ones are for Linux. There is a F95 trial version available from but I don't know how long the trial lasts.
