Formatting/Sequencing

Please forgive the lack of my knowledge with ArcServe, I've been left with the task after another employee left. I was trying to format an 8 tape media group with the idea that it would properly assign the sequence numbers. But each tape showed sequence #1. Could someone please provide me with a little guidance as to how to go about things correctly.

Do a quick erase plus on the tapes and ARCserve will automatically use them.
