Formatting Excel sheets to look professional

Hi,

I'm looking for ideas on how to format Excel sheets to look professional. In the past I have taken ideas from charts I have found in books but I am wondering if there is a collection of such ideas out there anywhere...

Usually if I have a simple chart I dark-border the outside, light-grid the inside, and light-grey shade and bold the header row. It's not much but it looks nicer than an outside border and inner grid. I'd like to step things up a notch now and tips/ideas would help!
