Hi all,

When the subtotal function is used, it inserts one line and bolds just the column information that the subtotal is done on.

Is there a way to either a) insert more rows, b) add a line above the subtotal line, c) Change the font attribute to bold or d) in any other way distinguish the data in the row?

Thanks for your help,

Alan Arons[ponder]

You can use outlining symbols on the left to show just the subtotal rows.

Select those rows

The go to Edit, GoTo, Special, Visible Cells only and format.

Or

If, for example, the subtotal title is in Col A,

then,

Select the whole worksheet and go to Format, Conditional Formatting, and change "Cell Value is" to "Formula is" and
type in =RIGHT($A1,5)="Total" then select your formatting in the dialog box.

BTW, for anything else, you would need a macro and for that you would be better off posting in Forum 707.
