Hi,

I do have several problems but I think it's not possible to solve these in an automatic cross-tab.

1) I would like to show some values in a cross tab with two digits after the colon (i mean "123,99" for example) and some without digits after the colon. All changes of format are working for all value cells of the cross tab. so this is not working. Please correct me if I'm wrong...

2) You can say wether you want or you don't want a border around each value-cell. Is there a way to tell Crystal how big this border should be? In my case it is like : without border everything is to narrow and if I switch the border on I do have problems to squeeze everything on one page.

3) I know that there is teh possibility to create a manual cross-tab. I already had a look at the corresponding faq. Is there a more detailed description available? I guess I don't understand everything the way it's meant...

thank you
Martin

It depends on what condition you want to use to determine the format. Version of Crystal also affects the options available. You might be able to do conditional formatting based on the CurrentFieldValue function.

I think there are a couple of FAQs that describe manual cross-tabs. They are more work to create and they have a fixed number of columns, but they do give more flexibility. See if the description in faq149-243 helps. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Martin,

Just curious if you ever got the conditional number of decimals to work. I tried this for about 20 minutes using CR v8.5 and was unable to get this to work for me. Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Hi dgillz,

I tried it some minutes and left it frustrated.
I did not know Crystal Reports some weeks ago and I bet I still don't know it very well BUT if it comes to Cross-Tables I have to say that it's not the tool that convinces me. There are to many restrictions to many borders, to many things you simply can't do.

Well, you could do a manual cross-table. The result would be that nobody else could ever alter the report.

To make it short - I did not get it to work...
