format changes from accounting to fraction to my frustration! 1

If I enter +1200/200 and hit enter in a cell. Then go format the same cell as 'accounting' (2,$) Then I go back to the cell and enter +1400/2000 and hit enter the cell format changes to fraction automatically. This is a new manifestation and I don't know what has caused the change.
Please assist me if you will and thanks very much.

Sorry, but can't do that. Accountants have always used the + sign on the numeric keypad for starting the formula entry. It's been that way since Excel for Windows came about.
