Form opens slow 2

Can someone shoot me a few ideas on how I can speed the opening of a from that has 69 fields that come from one table with two subforms? Right now the form uses a control tab to keep like items together but since I added 40 more fields the the original 29 it opens so slow. Some users think Access has locked up and kill it which messes up the DB . I have to keep all these fields on one form so making a seperate forms isn't an option. I know the number of fields is the problem because I temp removed half of them and the form opens quicker.

When I say 69 fields I mean 69 text or check boxes. There is a label for each text and check box.

Would splittng the table and making some of the fields and putting some fields on a subform speed it up?

Thank you for the help. I did some of the stuff in those links and now my form opens up in 3 sec instead of 10 sec. Now my boss and all the people who use this are happy.
