FORM DESIGNER QUESTION

Sometimes in the form designer (ver. 6.0) I can see the bottom part of the form. I have maximize and minimize set to true and windowstate set to 2-maximized. What am I missing in the designer that does this to me?

Thanks

If what you mean is that the bottom of the form is getting cut off then maybe your problem is with the design area you are allowing. Go to the VFP system menu while in design and:

TOOLS - OPTIONS - Forms (tab) - set the "Maximum design area to a bigger resolution"

...if you don't want this setting change to go away in the future then make sure to click on "Set As Default" button once you are done changing it.

Thanks... did not know that option was there.

On kind of a quickie related area... I see all the time forms samples here entirely in code. Is it possible to convert my forms generated in the forms designer to code format for easy editing via code?

Thanks again for the tip!

you can save them as a class...

FILE - Save As Class

...however getting it back into a scx after that is a bit tricky, until recently I would have told you it was impossible but there was a thread here on it not too long ago...I will see if I can find it.

Here's the link to it.

Convert prg sample to scx file
thread184-741912

...when you save your form as a class you will need to use the Class Browser (TOOLS - Class Browser) in order to view your form class as generated code, that's where most of the examples are cut and pasted from here that you are referring to. This will give you a prg file, modify the code to suit your needs and then use the information in the thread referenced above to change it back into a scx file.

Two things:

1. It maybe more trouble than it is worth
2. This question is not remotely related to the question you started this thread with, so next time create a new thread. [smile]
