Form.Close and MDIChildren

If an MDI child form is closed, is it removed from the parent's MDIChildren? Or, does something else cause the form to be removed from MDIChildren. For most of the forms in my project, closing the form seems to remove it from MDIChildren, but I have one form that is still in MDIChildren after it is closed.
