i have a database that i add the same type of fields for every month. i am using the same report and form layout each time i create a new table. is there a way i can creat a template and just use that and change the table or do i have to continue to create it manually?

With the Database window shown, select Tools|Options, then select the Forms/Reports tab. From there you can specify what form/report you want to use as your template.

maybe i'm not doing it right, but i had to type in the names of the forms and reports that i wanted as a template, but i don't see where i go to access them to use later. i have a table of data that i import and then make into these forms and reports, all the data is the same field wise just different records. i don't see where to go. also can i use these in other databases?

I'm a little confused at what you're trying to do. But, if the only difference between forms is the name of the table (field names are the same), then I would suggest creating a library database that contains your form laid out like you want it. Then, via the OpenArgs argument of the OpenForm method, pass it the name of the table you want used as your Recordsource for the form. Then, via the OnOpen event of the form, set the Recordsource property to Me.OpenArgs.

If my suggestion isn't even close to what you're trying to do, then another suggestion would be to create your own wizard that basically imports the form (from a standard location) and then programmatically changes the properties of the form and controls to what you want.
