Hello all,
I am posting this here instead of the Virus/Spyware forum because this is a higher-visibility forum. One of my spam-honeypot email addresses popped up with something new today...a site that, when visited, offers to download a file called "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe". I know it's bogus because the site that's hosting the file is an Indian education site, not a Windows site. I emailed the webmaster of the site to let them know they've been hacked. This is the first time I've seen this one.
My guess is it's some sort of Trojan, but let's not find out, shall we? Make sure you're getting your IE8 from a real Windows site.
