Does anybody know of an application or a way to force a 800x480 screen resolution within windows even though the laptop screen is of a 4:3 ratio? I have a 7" 16:9 TFT whose natural res is 800x480 and need to configure some applications to run on it on the laptop. Ideally this would be much easier if I could get the resolution on my laptop to match that of the 7" TFT.

Help much appreciated on this matter

What sound card do you have? Only some cards allow custom resolutions - I know for a fact S3 and ATI Rage cards won't let you...but for modern nVidia or ATI, you should be able to do it.

If your card is nVidia, upgrade your drivers using their website and follow the guide here:

For ATI, check this out:

Thanks for that,
Unfortunatly already tried Powerstrip to no avail. Video card is a ATI Radeon IGP 340M for a laptop. Any more ideas? or if it is at all possible?
